I do apologise for the lack of activity on the site for the last couple of weeks I have been busier than a bee. I have been working 2 jobs other than Peripheral Games and rewriting the graphics subsystem of the Scales engine! But now I am back were I started and the entire system is much revised and has a much better rendering using the new OpenGL 4.2 specification which is OpenGL’s answer to DX11.
I have also been working on the engine visualization video I said I was going to make 2 weeks ago. Well now its done and please enjoy.
Hello there! As an indie dev I thought it would be important to show you my latest project that I am committed to. Its the biggest project I have ever done and it will teach my a huge amount about how games work.
That is to make a game engine! I have been in this industry for about a year and a half so I don’t expect it to be the next Unity. But I do want people to take it seriously as an engine.
Any ways enough of that. Basically its a 2D engine with a fully featured editor and hopefully someday visual scripting.
In my latest vlog I tell you all about it.
Hello all! So submissions have ended for the Community game, thank you all for submitting a really appreciated all the submissions. Now it is time for voting. Or at least the first round of voting, should there be anymore voting. You can vote on the Community Game page. All of the information for the 4 games that went up for voting are on the page so you can make an educated decision.
In other news I have another vlog up, and I talk about the Community Game and my aspirations to make lots of games! Anyways you can watch below and please remember to like and comment.
Well hello there! Believe it or not it has been 7 weeks since I started making vlog’s and so here is the seventh! For the first time in a couple of weeks I didn’t run out of things to talk about as I rambled on about my thoughts from Indie Game: The Movie. Also about my attitude to indie games vs triple-A games.
Another thing I wanted to mention is the Community Game has only a couple days left for submissions so please come and submit your game idea to on the “Community Game” page! You could be a game designer!
Well hello there! If your reading this the chances are I told you I have a big announcement. Well this is it! A new project called the community designed game.
The idea is the video game community, or you, are going to, not help me, but design a game all by yourselves, and then I and anyone else who wants to be involved will make the game. It all starts today and the next week. On the “Community Game” page on this website you and all your friends are going to submit lots of ideas for games. We will then have a couple of rounds of voting to decide the best idea. After that the pre-production phase will go on with the community giving feedback and help along the way to shape and define the game.
Oh and it gets better! When the game is released it will be 79 cents, and every drop of the profits will go back to the community in the form of Kickstarter and donations all over the place!
The only requirement I have is the game has to be a 2D mobile experience!
It doesn’t cost you a penny to join the fun so go and submit your idea here.
Below is this weeks slightly late blog were I talk about the “Community Game” and my hopes and wishes for the project!
Well hello there! It’s time for another vlog! In this episode I run out of things to talk about.
More importantly though I am holding a competition! Over the next month or two I will slowly be releasing clues on twitter as to what the secret project is about. Its your job to guess it before anyone else. Incase you miss some, at the end of every week(Friday) I will put up a post on the website here with all the major clues that week so you can try and guess. Drop me a tweet or a comment below on what you think the game is about an you could be in with a chance to win 2 copies of the secret project!
Yea, Im actually managing to keep up with a video per week. Life is super busy at the moment but here’s another short video of me talking about game development stuff, oh and you can help me design a game!
God can you believe one week has past! Time flies, anyways here you can enjoy the second vlog were I rant on about my dreams of making a game engine and how I intend to do t!
Hello there, welcome to my new series of videos which aims to be a weekly vlog rather than a post. This is so you can sit back and enjoy a video rather than read. So without further ado here you go!
